A Chinese vegetable, also known as sprouting broccoli.  It is a hybrid vegetable, not specific to just the broccoli family, nor is it baby broccoli (that is what is what resembles, though).  It is fully mature when it is harvested.  They are spear shaped, with thin and tender vibrant green stems with lengths that rarely exceed 6” long.  The head is a loose small cluster of florets that resemble broccoli rabe.  Compared to the common broccoli, the flavor is understated, mild, peppery and subtly sweet.  The entire plant is edible.
