Cranberries grown on low, creeping shrubs or vines. The fruit is a berry that is larger than the leaves of the plant it grows on. Cranberries are initially white, but turn a deep red when fully ripe. They have a slightly acidic taste than can overwhelm its sweetness. Common uses include juice, sauce, and jam.
