Dragon Fruit is an exotic cactus fruit. It has a wild looking exterior with a rather bland taste. The taste is described as being very bland like a melon or a kiwi with a mild sweetness. White creamy flesh interior with small black seeds throughout (edible seeds), often described as a “super fruit” due to its high levels of antioxidants.
Originally from Central America, now grown in Southern California and in Florida.
Handling and Storage
They should be full-colored and free of moldy spots. Sold fresh they should be stored in the refrigerator, unwashed, for up to five days. Serve chilled.
