A hybrid grown from a plum and an apricot.  Pluots are extremely sweet due to very high sugar levels.  They are 70% plum and 30% apricot, therefore they look more like plums than they do apricots.

They are delicate like a plum, handle with care.  You will know when they are ripe because they will have a slight give to them and they will be very fragrant.
