A subtropical citrus fruit known for its bitter flavor.  They are spherical in shape with yellow-orange skin color.  Their flesh can be pink, white, or red.

Handling and Storage
When choosing a grapefruit, choose one with a bright skin color with no noticeable bruises.  It should be firm with a good size – the heavier it is the more juice it will contain. You can store a grapefruit on the counter but it will stay fresh up to two weeks in the refrigerator.
