A stonefruit that has yellow or whitish flesh, a delicate aroma, and a velvety skin.  There is a large seed inside surrounded by a wood-like husk (non-edible).  Peaches continue to ripen after being picked!

Handling and Storage
Peaches are very delicate, handle them with care.  They are best stored at room temperature.  They are highly perishable and should be consumed within two weeks of harvest.  Ripe fruit can be stored in the refrigerator for a day or two to extend its shelf life.  The skin of peaches is can be eaten along with its flesh.
Summertime, peak season is July and August.
